4/01/2020 COVID-19 Special Appeal

Dear Friend of Fellowship,

First and foremost, thank you for your kind words of support and confidence as we maneuver through this unprecedented health crisis. I hope this note finds you and those you love healthy and well.

The Fellowship Foundation is committed to the entire Fellowship Senior Living (FSL) community and is supporting leadership in their dedicated efforts to keep everyone well-informed and secure. As a 24/7 health care provider, the COVID-19 health crisis has presented Fellowship Senior Living with incredible challenges in keeping our entire community, both on and off campus, well informed, healthy and engaged. We continue to be proactive in our approach, seeking expert guidance from federal, state, and local government, medical partners, and our senior living industry peer providers.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, FSL has instituted a no visitors policy to the Health Center and Independent Living residents except for end-of-life situations. In addition, personnel, support services and patients continue to be rigorously screened, while volunteers have been restricted from visiting the Community. Fellowship Senior Living has also reallocated resources to create Fellowship Studios which live streams original programming and content to more than 400 residents in lieu of in person events and meetings via internal channel 593. This effort is coordinated by the Life Enrichment Department, with assistance from other department leaders. Programming includes exercise classes, religious services, entertainment, education, health updates, and more. Additionally, Culinary is continuing to work diligently to provide nutritious meals for all of our residents and team members through expanded hours of take out service.

The current health crisis is placing an unexpected strain on our budget as we strive to ensure we have the staff and supplies we need to continue to provide the highest quality services. You can make a positive impact during this crisis by contributing a gift to the Fellowship Foundation Healthcare Heroes Program. Gifts to this fund will honor our caregivers and recognize the efforts of our team members on the front lines of this crisis; those who have had to juggle child care as schools are closed, many working overtime to ensure that the engagement needs of our residents are met, and still others that are spending countless hours ensuring that those we care for and serve are continuing to receive the highest quality healthcare services. All gifts in response to this campaign will support our caregivers and the essential equipment and services required to address this growing crisis.

As a nonprofit, faith based Life Plan Community, now more than ever, we are dedicated to our mission to serve seniors of all backgrounds with services that foster long-term health, personal independence and fellowship. Whether you are a Fellowship Village resident, a Helping Hands client, a Therapy at Home or Garden State Hospice patient, a Fellowship Freedom Plans member, or a patron of the Mitchell and Ann Sieminski Theater, you can help through a gift to the Healthcare Heroes Program. Please click on the DONATE NOW box below to contribute a gift in support of the Healthcare Heroes Program. The Fellowship Foundation is also actively pursuing grant opportunities to further supplement the growing cost of this crisis. We will get through this together. Thank you for your continued support of our team, mission, and of those we care for and serve.
